Press invite : Press conference and visit of the Knokke-Heist International Photo Festival: 28 March 2014

From 30 March up to and including 9 June 2014, Knokke-Heist will once again celebrate contemporary photography. This year, the International Photo Festival of Knokke-Heist offers six free exhibitions catering to every visitor with various perspectives. One of the highlights is the outdoor exhibition, ‘Haute Africa’, in which various leading artists and photographers, including Martin Parr, Wangechi Mutu, Zanele Muholi, Viviane Sassen, Yinka Shonibare and countless others share an alternative perspective on the African continent today. However, the festival also is a platform for lesser-known talent. In the Scharpoord Cultural Centre, you can take in ‘Unknown Masterpieces’, an artistic exhibition that highlights the photographs of the Belgian trendsetters of the future. Finally, on 11 May, the photo festival will welcome the travelling ‘2014 World Press Photo’ exhibition, which premieres in Knokke-Heist. Mr Maxim Willems, the Alderman for Culture of Knokke-Heist, has the pleasure of inviting you to the press conference on Friday 28 March, where you can be among the first to visit the photo festival, in the presence of the curators and the photographers.
